Scaffolding Casters
Scaffold Casters provide the mobility required to move towers quickly and efficiently across smooth, level surfaces. Engineered with heavy-duty steel stems and high-capacity wheels, these casters are compatible with both 5' x 5' Outdoor Sections and Bakers Scaffold, allowing for rapid repositioning without the need to strike the entire setup.
Configuration Options
- Outdoor Scaffolding Casters: These 8-inch heavy-duty wheels feature a thicker stem and a rugged tread designed to handle concrete and hard-packed surfaces. They provide the necessary clearance and strength to support the weight of full 5' x 5' towers and materials.
- Bakers Scaffold Casters: Standard 5-inch non-marring wheels designed for interior use. These allow the 29-inch wide units to glide through doorways and across finished flooring without leaving marks.
- Dual-Locking System: Both styles feature an integrated braking mechanism that locks both the wheel rotation and the swivel pivot simultaneously, ensuring the scaffold remains completely stationary while in use.
Safety & Mobility Requirements
- The "No-Rider" Rule: OSHA strictly prohibits moving a scaffold while workers are on the platform. All personnel and loose materials must be removed before unlocking casters to reposition the unit.
- Surface Integrity: Casters should only be used on firm, level, and clean surfaces. Small debris, pits, or floor transitions can cause a wheel to catch, leading to a tip-over.
- Full Engagement: Before mounting the scaffold, all four caster brakes must be manually engaged and tested.
- Stems and Pins: Casters must be secured to the scaffold legs with locking pins to prevent them from falling out if the scaffold is lifted or tilted during transit.
